If you are still using AI like it is Google, then you are using it wrong
Here are some tips to make your AI experience better:
- Prompting
Don’t just type “ai prompting tips“, instead say:
“Hello! Can you please give me some tips for prompting an AI model?“
Notice the bold in “please“? AI models ((large/small language models) are trained with words like “please”, so it is important to include them in prompts!
- Roles
Did you know you can tell the AI who to be? This is called role prompting. Instead of asking "explain quantum physics", type: "Please act as a university professor and explain quantum physics to me as if I am a first-year student."
- Iterations
AI is not a one-shot tool (most of the time)! If the first answer is not exactly what you wanted, don't give up and close the chat. Instead, say something like: "That is great, but can you make it shorter?" or "Please make the tone more formal." Think of it as a conversation.
- Don’t listen blindly
If the model says something like “good enough“ when you say to make it better, don’t be scared to push back. Say “But it is not good enough for me, I want it better“
