π GPTVault Weekly #2
Welcome back to GPTVault! π
Last week, we covered the fundamentals of getting better answers from AI.
This week, we're looking at features and techniques that many people either overlook or don't realize exist. None of these require you to be a tech expert, and most take less than a minute to try.
Let's jump in!
β‘ Quick Win
Don't start a new chat every time. Start one insidea project
If you're working on one project, keep it in Projects. Make a PZroject folder and put al related chats in there :)
π‘ Starting a new chat from scratch is best when you're switching to a completely different topic.
Not sure how to explain what you want?
Instead of struggling, say:
"Interview me one question at a time until you fully understand what I'm trying to achieve."
It's much easier than trying to think of everything up front.
Got messy notes from a meeting, lecture, or brainstorming session?
Paste them into ChatGPT and ask it to turn them into:
β A summary
β A checklist
β An action plan
β Meeting minutes
β A professional email
Messy input is perfectly fine. AI is surprisingly good at organizing it.
Don't settle for one answer.
Try asking for:
π― A short version
π A friendly version
πΌ A professional version
π A humorous version
π± A version for social media
Having options makes it easier to choose the one that fits best.
Instead of asking only for the answer, ask:
"Explain why you chose this approach."
Understanding the reasoning helps you learn instead of simply copying.
AI is excellent at creating step-by-step guides.
Examples:
βοΈ Planning a holiday
βοΈ Buying a laptop
βοΈ Preparing for a job interview
βοΈ Moving house
βοΈ Launching a website
A checklist helps you avoid missing important steps.
You can ask ChatGPT to rewrite something for different audiences.
For example:
π§ Explain it to a 10-year-old.
π Explain it to a university student.
π¨βπΌ Explain it to a business executive.
No need to search for a different explanation online.
π‘ Prompt of the Week
Try this:
"Explain this topic using simple language, real-world examples, and an analogy. At the end, give me three questions to test whether I've understood it."
This works brilliantly when learning almost anything.
π‘οΈ AI Safety Corner
Remember that AI can sound very confident, even when it's mistaken.
For important topics such as health, finance, taxes, or legal matters:
βοΈ Use AI to understand concepts.
βοΈ Verify key facts before making decisions.
Think of AI as a helpful assistant, not the final authority.
π¨ Common Mistake
People often ask:
"What's the best...?"
Usually, there isn't one "best" option.
Instead, try:
"Compare the top three options for my situation, including their pros, cons, and who each one is best suited for."
You'll get a much more useful answer.
π§° Mini Workflow
Need to write something?
Instead of asking AI to write it immediately, try this workflow:
1οΈβ£ Brainstorm ideas.
2οΈβ£ Create an outline.
3οΈβ£ Write the first draft.
4οΈβ£ Improve the draft.
5οΈβ£ Proofread it.
Breaking the task into stages usually produces a better result.
π€ AI Myth of the Week
β Myth
"You need complicated prompts."
β Reality
Simple prompts with enough context usually outperform long, complicated prompts full of unnecessary instructions.
Focus on explaining your goal clearly rather than trying to sound technical.
π Challenge for This Week
Open ChatGPT and try these three prompts:
1.
"Interview me until you fully understand the project I'm working on."
2.
"Turn these notes into an action plan."
3.
"Give me three different ways to solve this problem."
You'll probably find at least one new way to use AI in your daily life.
π¦ Quick Recap
This week you learned to:
β Keep related conversations together.
β Let AI interview you.
β Generate multiple versions of the same answer.
β Ask for explanations, not just answers.
β Turn messy notes into organized documents.
